Natalie & Tory’s wedding at Nestleton Waters Inn

I used to figure skate with Natalie way back in the day, and we’d recently touched base on facebook, as she’s also in the wedding industry. She makes the most amazing cakes, you can find her here! She actually did her own wedding cake and sweet table, so be sure to check it out below! :)

Natalie is a VERY detail oriented person, so I knew that we were in for a real treat with this one!! They chose the most incredible venue…..Nestleton Waters Inn. A beautiful Victorian style B&B resting on an expansive country property with a pond, corn fields, and an exquisite bridal suite for bridal prep. It literally has it all! A dream come true for any bride (and photographer)!!! The owners and planners were extremely helpful and kind, the food was delicious, and everything was extremely organized. We’d highly recommend the venue to anyone!

We’d been super excited about this wedding all year. An excellent finale to our 2013 wedding season!! So needless to say, my heart sank when I looked at the weather forecast for the day. 90% chance of rain. And I’m not talking about a light drizzle either. It literally POURED RAIN ALL DAY LONG. Having had a similar day for my own outdoor wedding, I knew how devastating it can be. Everything you’ve been planning for and envisioning for months and months goes down the drain, and you have to resort to Plan B. I always tell my brides that it is what it is, and the day will be perfect and amazing and incredible no matter what. You can choose to be sad, or you can choose to be excited about what it is and make the best of it! When life gives you lemons, make vodka lemonades right? So what’s what we did!!!! Natalie totally rocked it, and I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when she suggested that we go out to the back lawn to take some romantic shots of her and Tory in the rain (umbrella-free!!!). We were all drenched from head to toe…… her hair, her dress, her shoes……but these memories are certainly some of my favorites of the day (if not of all time!), and will most certainly be remembered for the rest of their lives as well! Although no one ever hopes for rain on their wedding day, it honestly makes for such a unique and interesting day. It may not be ideal, but it certainly is romantic, moody, interesting and memorable! :)

I can’t forget a huge shout out to the bridal party as well, who not only braved the rain, but stood out in the freezing cold later in the night to get the sparkler shot for Natalie. Totally worth it right?!?! I’m pretty sure it was -6 degrees when I got to my car… so it certainly was below zero at that point! Everyone certainly came together to make the day extremely special for Natalie and Tory, so thanks for being such troopers! :)

Thanks again Nat & Tory for including us in your special day!!! We had the most amazing time getting to know you both…. and your pictures from both your engagement and your wedding are some of my personal favs!! :) You are such a fun loving and beautiful couple, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Keep in touch! xoxo Court & Gray
