The Burroughs Wedding, Toronto, ON | Carmen & Sarah
Carmen & Sarah were married on April 27th, 2019 at The Burroughs, Toronto.
You know the old saying “always a bridesmaid, never a bride”? I wouldn’t go quite as far as to say that! However, Sarah has been a bridesmaid in countless wedding parties I’ve photographed over the past decade. Probably because she is such an incredibly fun, loyal and awesome person, so many of her friends choose to include her in their wedding party!
She met Carmen a few years ago, and I could tell right away that they were an amazing match! Sarah has always hosted yearly events. Personal favorites include a ladies Christmas pot luck, and a beer tasting tournament full of trivia and games. Carmen fit right in with the crew, joining in the festivities and kicking butt in all of the games! Both are huge lovers of animals, TFC, Harry Potter, craft beer, and good eats. They both proposed to each other with the cutest and most thoughtful stories EVER! After they got engaged, they were super pumped to meet up with me to discuss their wedding plans! 🙂
This was such a fun and unique wedding to be a part of! First of all, it was my first same sex wedding, so I was super stoked about that! Secondly, it was my first time shooting wedding portraits in a Grafitti alley, so that was pretty badass! After that, we headed over to The Dime do shots with the wedding party (both pictures AND shots!!). Then there was the most heartfelt ceremony at The Burroughs. To top it all off, we enjoyed a lovely dinner (with a pie bar!), and dancing (with props!). WHOOHOO!
Funny story….a few weeks prior to the wedding, I received an email with the subject line: “shot list”. I assumed this was a family shot list for the wedding day. Low and behold, it was a list of bar shots. They wanted us to do a shot with them at the bar! Best couple ever! 🙂
