I have been interested in photography pretty much my whole life. I was  always the kid on the class trip or holiday taking rolls and rolls of film. I was  always the one everyone else went to to borrow my negatives, or  eventually, have  a cd of my pictures made….

I used to pose my friends for photo shoots in high school, and was always  the model/photographer in my own show! I used to get annoyed though,  because the pictures of me never turned out as well. My face was too dark, the background was bad, or they would cut off my shoes!

Since the digital age, I have gone though at least 5 cameras. Not because I  am overly rough with them (accidents DO happen, but considering I take it  absolutely everywhere, one camera a year seems reasonable, compared  with someone who might use it once or twice)….and technology does  change so fast and I need to keep up with it……and finally I decided that it  was time to invest in the digital SLR. Yes, it is bulky and somewhat ugly to  wear, but it has become part of my outfit.

I once read a posting on a photography blog asking the question: “Should I bring my SLR to Europe with me, or will it be too annoying to carry?” My immediate response was “If you have to ask, then the answer is no!” I would never ever question it for a second. If I were in Europe, I’d rather go without water then to not bring my SLR.
